WHO WE ARE
Here at OAKEA we’re a small close knit team based in Hereford and we only operate online. OAKEA 1st
began trading in 2005 as a small online retailer initially using eBay as a trading platform, as the business
began to grow we moved premises and opened our first showroom in Hereford. We stayed in this
warehouse/showroom premises until June 2018 When our lease expired. During September 2017 the
decision was made too close OAKEA (Stock2u Ltd). Since the Brexit referendum the business had
struggled with the increasing costs associated with importing furniture direct from the manufacturers
overseas aswel as the low consumer confidence surrounding the retail sector since the referendum. The
previous managing director decided enough was enough and with the lease due for renewal this was the
time for him to concentrate on other business concerns and interests.
Prior to the business closing negotiations took place with a variety of prospective buyers, until a local
consortium led by Marc our new Managing Director (our previous operations manager between august
2016-2018) decided to continue the hard work and efforts that Henrik the outgoing MD had put into the
business over the past 13 years. With Marc’s experience and the fresh investment and impetus in the
business we are so excited about the future with OAKEA.
OAKEA will now trade as an online only business, this means we can keep our costs to an absolute
minimum to bring you the very best deals, We guarantee we will not be beaten on price for like for like
items. If you see something cheaper somewhere let us know and we’ll beat it.
